Some of us, Filipinos are ashamed of being one. They think that their life could have been better if they were born American, Mexican, Korean, etc. But I'm not one of them cause I am proud to be called FILIPINO.
Of course I'm gonna give you some out of my tons of reasons why I can shout to the world that I am a Filipino citizen.
What we have in the Philippines that you will NEVER find in other country.
Things we do which is peculiar.
Before I end this blog I just want you to translate these words in English:
Epal Gigil
Bitin Pasma
Sayang Pambahay
Kilig Diskarte
Tampo Pikon
Basta Sumbat
Pagpag Kuwan
Just COMMENT if you have some answers.
THANKS...
Of course I'm gonna give you some out of my tons of reasons why I can shout to the world that I am a Filipino citizen.
- Don't you laugh when someone in the store says "pabili nga po ng Colgate yung Happy."
Come on, don't deny it you've heard it once, right? See, we Filipinos are just being natural. - We have this kind of respect to the elders with use of "po and opo." Even if sometimes we use it sarcastically. Most of the time when our parents are lecturing us.
- Talking about respect, whenever the bell rings in the school no one of the students go out to the classroom unless their teacher ask them to.
- We eat our meals together with our family which makes us close together.
- And because we're family oriented we never leave our grandparents in Home For The Aged. We still care for them even if they are too old to baby sit.
- Filipinos are too conservative. Period.
- We're also hospitable. Did you experience whenever there's an occasion, your parents will tell you to let the visitors eat first. It happens to me all the time.
- We call strangers "ate" and "kuya" even if we're not relatives.
- This is the main reason why. We just laugh at our problems.

- Jeepney and trycicles.
- Different kinds of "sawsawan" like patis.
- Unique foods like bagoong, balut, bicol express, dinuguan.
- Divisoria
- Streetfoods like kwek-kwek, fishballs, kikiam.
- TABO, you'll never see anything like this in other country.
- Sari-sari store, there's one in every corner.
Things we do which is peculiar.
- Merienda, who else eats food five times a day? Filipinos.
- "Tingi" we are the only one who can buy things in small affordable amounts especially in condiments.
- "Tawad" we never fail to save money while shopping.
- "Kamayan style" a style of eating your meals using your hands. I don't know why but foods taste better.
